Chanters from a variety of Catholic Parishes and groups serenaded holiday shoppers with Gregorian Chant at the Hilldale Mall on Saturday December 19th. Marilyn Zipsie, director of the St. Ambrose Academy Schola and the Divine Mercy Schola, thought providing Gregorian chant would be an interesting alternative for holiday shoppers. She contacted Hilldale Mall, which offers a variety of music during the holiday season, and the mall scheduled the group.
Besides the St. Ambrose singers, members of the Knights of Divine Mercy, diocesan seminarians, members of the choirs from Holy Redeemer parish Madison and St. Norbert Parish, Roxbury, plus singers from Stevens Point joined the choir.Aristotle Esguerra, director of music at St. Mary Pine Bluff and St. Ignatius Mt. Horeb, guest-conducted this event.
